Then, 2019 began with the project “I like school and school likes me.” Set up by Theater Artemis and Design Museum, artists live at a high school for some days (and nights). And very much like a teenage sleepover, I didn’t sleep at all. But I did get the chance to make art, disturb lessons, and hide gnomes all over the place. Some of them even ended up in the local supermarket.
The sleepover made it to the newspapers – you can read the article here (in Dutch).
In April there will be an presentation/documentary at the Design Museum in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
On to the next project: Halsoverkop. A new museum inside the Frans Hals museum in Haarlem, where kids make the art and the exhibitions themselves. First they get a workshop on how to watch and understand art, after which they can try for themselves. As you can see here, my ‘team’ is doing a great job on the preparations:
Finally, the Haute Photographie Fair in February. I will be portraying people for my Buurtplaatjes project. We had a small pilot already, with mayor Aboutaleb himself:
