[NL] Als de spaaractie van de Buurtplaatjes in een aantal Schiedamse wijken nog volop bezig is, hangt de bonte verzameling van mensen ook in het Stedelijk Museum Schiedam. Vanaf 14 mei 2022 maak je kennis met alle Schiedamse ‘plaatjes’. Denk aan Lennox in de categorie Mensen die zin van het leven hebben gevonden en kapper Ingrid die ooit een klant wegstuurde omdat zijn haar te veel klitten had. Later hoorde ze dat de ‘klittenman’ naar de hondenkapper was gegaan.

Heropening
‘De tentoonstelling is meer dan een overzicht van Schiedammers’, zegt museumdirecteur Anne de Haij. ‘Het laat zien dat we meer met elkaar gemeen hebben dan we denken.’ De opening valt samen met de feestelijke heropening van het museumgebouw dat anderhalf jaar dicht was vanwege een gemeentelijke renovatie. De Buurtplaatjes is een samenwerking met kunstenaar Maarten Bel. Het werkt net als bij de Pokémon- of voetbalplaatjes, alleen krijg je je stickers niet bij een grote supermarkt maar bij lokale ondernemers En je spaart buurtbewoners, in plaats van bekende voetballers.

Reopening
According to museum director Anne de Haij, the exhibition is much more than a mere overview of Schiedam residents. ‘It teaches us that we have more in common with one another than we may think.’ The opening of the exhibition is scheduled as part of a festive reopening of the museum as a whole, which had been closed for a year and a half due to renovation work. The Buurtplaatjes are a collaborative project with artist Maarten Bel. Comparable to baseball cards, the stickers of fellow Schiedam residents are given out with an order at a local business.
